Research
This section highlights both my current and past research experiences across a range of interdisciplinary topics in public health, environmental science, and medical anthropology.
Currently, I am conducting field research in the Iringa Region of Tanzania, where I am exploring local understandings of pain, death, and palliative care. This medical anthropology project focuses on how healthcare providers, families, and traditional healers navigate end-of-life care in a rural hospital setting.
Prior to this, I completed an independent semester-long guided reading on malaria pathogenesis and control strategies to prepare for my role in the Dinglasan Lab, where I contribute to global health research focused on malaria transmission.
In Spring 2024, I conducted research on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) through the College of Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Development. This work examined the environmental and health impacts of PFAS contamination, and I had the opportunity to present my findings at the University of Florida Undergraduate Research Symposium.
